A neighborhood art and design facility providing space for community building, artistic collaboration, and mutual education.
Love & Matter will fully open in 2027-28 as a multistory, multipurpose facility for the arts centered around well equipped workshops and shared art studios. Members will have access to tools, space to work, storage, and, critically, a community of other artists and craftspeople.
We will offer classes and workshops for everyone from hobbyists and curious novices to full time practitioners and covering everything from tool safety to advanced technique demonstrations to protest sign best practices.
When our event spaces aren't being used for shows, talks, and performances we'll be making them available for community and mutual-aid groups, members' interest clubs, critique circles, and co-working.
While we get our main facility approved and built we'll be running event series out of the current warehouse and hosting classes and social events at a secondary space in Bed-Stuy. For updates join our discord, sign up for our newsletter, or subscribe to the calendar.
